To Love started as an exercise in composing a song in the folk style in Dorian mode. I was inspired by the album Goat Rodeo (hence the instrumentation) and used my own poetry for the text. The poem is about how weird it is to fall in love over and over again, how recovering from heartache is sometimes impossible.
